Madhya Pradesh is finding itself on the top in the destination wedding list this season, along with the usual hill stations and beaches.
The local wedding planners, who have their kitty full mostly with destination weddings, give credits to the MP tourism as well for the increasing popularity of destinations in the state. Orchha, Ujjain, Bhopal and Indore have capped the list for the couples opting for destination wedding in MP and make their wedding an extravagant affair.
“Last year only, the MP tourism department had invited the wedding planners from pan- India for a meeting and opened up a few destinations. This has not only increased the number of places for us but given an option for the client’s preference as well,” said wedding planner Dhruv Mehta, who has been in the business for over a decade now.
While Orchha has some heritage properties which are preferred by the clients, Ujjain has become a more cost effective option and has many upcoming venues for lavish weddings at a much lower cost when compared to Indore.
Beautiful lakes and dams across Bhopal, make it an equally good option for the destination wedding, said Mehta.
Apart from these destinations, Maheshwar, Pachmarhi, and Khajuraho too are extremely popular otions for destination wedding among the clients.
Destination wedding has become the most sought-after option for couples, who instead of inviting a thousand or more guests, now only prefer calling a couple of hundred relatives and friends for their wedding and keeping it a private and more enjoyable affair.
