Madhya Pradesh: New guidelines for the fourth phase of lockdown

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while addressing the public on Monday, announced new guidelines for lockdown 4.0 which he said, has been decided as per the suggestions received from the people of all sections of the society and Crisis Management groups of the districts.

The Orange Zone category has now been scrapped and all the districts have been divided into two zones, Red and Green.

However, special restrictions of the Ministry of Home Affairs will continue in all the containment areas. Considering the seriousness of the situation, entire Indore and Ujjain districts, municipal areas of Bhopal, Burhanpur, Jabalpur, Khandwa and Dewas as well as the municipality (urban) areas of Neemuch, Dhar and Kukshi have been kept under the Red Zone. Restrictions like prohibited entry and exit of locals, no industries etc. will continue in the containment areas of these cities. Only emergency and essential activities will be allowed.

All public places including educational institutions, gym, cinema halls, auditoriums, bars, shopping malls, markets and others would remain closed. Religious places will also remain strictly under lockdown.

At the same time, all types of activities will be allowed in the remaining 42 districts categorized as Green Zone except for restricted activities. All shops, vegetable markets, private and government offices will run at full capacity and movement by private vehicles will also be allowed. Public transport will not be allowed for a week, after which it will be reviewed again.

The movement of people from 7pm to 7am will be restricted in all zones, allowed only for emergency/ essential services. The liquor shops have been allowed to open in all the zones, except for red zones.

Precautions like wearing masks in public places and workplace is mandatory, spitting will be fined and physical distancing is to be strictly followed in public places.
