Bhopal’s National Law Institute University (NLIU) and its Centre for Labour Law has launched a website called www.mazdoormitra.info. This initiative was taken by the students of NLIU for the labourers of the State, who are facing terrible problems amidst the lockdown due to serious outbreak of COVID-19.
In this unique initiative, the website provides all the official and non-government information related to the workers like Helpline numbers issued by various state governments, information of relief centres, social organizations which are distributing ration and food to the people in crisis, at one place. In India, the lockdown is being going on for more than 40 days now and due to this, the migrant and state labourers, both, are facing the most difficulties. Central and State Governments have started transporting the stranded migrant workers to their homes across the country, including Madhya Pradesh Government.
To aid these labourers as well as the government, the CLL NLIU decided to come up with this website where anyone can contact the helplines provided on it and gain assistance. In case someone wants to offer/ receive food packets or ration or any other kind of help, it will be provided through the help of the website, whenever someone reports their problem.
According to an information from a student, the contact details of Mahendra Soni, Chairperson, CLL-NLIU Bhopal as well as the CLL team have been given on the website, to ease up the assistance process and provide all possible help to the people worst hit due to this national calamity.
