All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhopal has started the clinical trial of Mycobacterium (Mw) drug on a COVID-19 patient last Thursday.
Dr Sarman Singh, Director- AIIMS Bhopal, said, “the hospital was the first to receive the medicine and first to start the clinical trial by administering the drug to a patient.”
“The patients are distributed in three groups and in the initial phase the drug is administered to the critical patients in ICU,” he added.
Globally, the first dose of this trial drug was dispensed on a COVID-19 patient in AIIMS Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. The clinical trial team of doctors administered the drug last Thursday and are awaiting the results to see how the patient responds to the initial dose of medicine.
