Madhya Pradesh is prepared to become a medical tourism hotspot by developing natural and alternative health approaches based on Kerala’s successful model. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, speaking electronically at the All India Delegation Conference of Arogya Bharti, stressed the state’s goal to encourage medical tourism via the use of Ayurveda and other traditional medicinal systems. He explained that this program will not only improve healthcare facilities but also offer countless job possibilities in the state.
The state government has sanctioned 46,451 new posts in health care facilities, with 800 Ayush Arogya Mandirs currently operating. One significant goal is to guarantee that every district in Madhya Pradesh has either a medical or Ayurvedic college, minimizing the need for residents to seek medical treatment outside the state. The building of government medical colleges at Mandsaur, Neemuch, and Seoni is complete and will be inaugurated shortly.
Dr. Yadav emphasized the effectiveness of Ayurvedic treatments, notably during the COVID-19 epidemic, where Ayush decoctions helped reduce illness transmission. With this momentum, the state intends to develop Ayurvedic hospitals in five districts—Balaghat, Shahdol, Sagar, Morena, and Narmadapuram—and is urging private companies to participate by constructing other similar facilities.
Another notable program led by Dr. Yadav is the Devaranya Yojana, which promotes medicinal cultivation in tribal areas. Small forest produce fairs are organized annually to raise awareness about medicinal plants and help them gain market presence.
During the ceremony, Dr. Yadav launched Arogya Bharti’s magazine, Arogya Sampada, with a special edition dedicated to Indian health concepts. Assembly Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar praised Arogya Bharti for their efforts to promote wellness and create a disease-free society.
With these deliberate efforts, Madhya Pradesh is poised to emerge as a medical tourism hub, nurturing a healthy, vibrant community founded in the rich tradition of Ayurvedic and natural medicine.
