In a landmark achievement for renewable energy in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, M/s Avinash Developers Pvt. Ltd. has been granted open access to solar power, eliminating the need for a separate feeder. This move aims to provide captive users with long-term access to solar power from their new 3 MW (AC) solar power generating plant in Village-Goukheda, Tehsil-Tilda, District-Raipur.
Background & Context.
Avinash Developers Pvt. Ltd., a registered firm involved in solar PV power development, has been working to improve its solar power capabilities. The company operates another solar power plant at the same location, with a capacity of 6.25 MWp (AC), which began operations on December 13, 2022. The connectivity agreement for this plant was signed on February 6, 2024. Building on this, the newer 3 MW plant is scheduled to be synchronized and commissioned by mid-April 2024.
Use of Solar Power
Avinash Developers intends to use the power generated by the 3 MW plant in two of its facilities.
Magnato The Mall: With a contract demand of 3000 KVA, it will receive 1.8 MW of electricity.
Club Parasio will receive 1.2 MW of power, meeting its contract requirement of 350 KVA.
The Commission’s Review and Decision
After evaluating the arguments and assessing the existing regulations, the commission determined that Magnato The Mall, Avinash Developers’ captive user, had previously received an exemption from having a dedicated feeder for their 6.25 MW plant. Given the company’s compliance with the restrictions established by CSPDCL and CSPTCL, the commission saw no cause to deny the current request.
For Club Parasio, the commission stated that regulations permit exemptions from dedicated feeders and specific equipment for solar generating plants with capacities of up to 500 kW. Avinash Developers’ plant fits these criteria, and the commission has previously granted similar exclusions, so the request was found acceptable.
The commission determined that Avinash Developers Pvt. Ltd. may be excluded from having a dedicated feeder for their 3 MW solar power facility, allowing them to draw power through open access for captive users. This judgment is based on satisfying the given conditions and complying with the set regulations.
This decision represents a significant step toward increasing the use of renewable energy sources in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, and demonstrates the state’s commitment to sustainable development.
