Tata Power Renewables Energy, a subsidiary of Tata Power, has commissioned a 431 MW DC solar project in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, spanning across 1,635.63 acres. This project marks a significant advancement in India’s renewable energy sector, as it integrates state-of-the-art single-axis trackers and bi-facial modules to optimize solar energy generation.

The company claims that this innovative combination of technology has improved the overall system efficiency by more than 15%, enabling the project to supply peak power for extended hours. Tata Power stated that this project sets a new benchmark for solar energy in India and demonstrates the potential of sustainable energy solutions to drive the country’s transition to green energy.

In addition to the technological advancements, the project is expected to contribute to environmental sustainability, with an estimated reduction of 7,80,300 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.

Deepesh Nanda, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd, expressed excitement over the achievement, stating, “We are thrilled to announce the successful commissioning of the 431 MW DC solar project in Neemuch.” He emphasized that the project reinforces Tata Power’s commitment to providing cost-effective and sustainable solar energy solutions.

Manu Srivastava, Additional Chief Secretary of the New and Renewable Energy Department, Madhya Pradesh, highlighted the significance of the project for India’s green energy goals. He noted that it reflects the growing potential of solar energy to support the country’s transition to sustainable energy sources.

With the commissioning of this project, Tata Power Renewables’ total renewable energy capacity has reached 10.9 GW, with 5.5 GW of projects in various stages of implementation. Its operational capacity now stands at 5.4 GW, which includes 4.4 GW from solar and 1 GW from wind energy projects.

This milestone underlines Tata Power’s leadership in India’s renewable energy landscape, as the company continues to expand its portfolio and contribute to the nation’s renewable energy targets.
