Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the state’s first all-women-operated hotel, Amaltas, under the MP Tourism Corporation in Pachmarhi on 7th December 2024 . The hotel, located in one of the state’s most popular hill stations, will be entirely managed by women, underscoring the government’s commitment to empowering women in the hospitality sector. Yadav highlighted the significance of this initiative, calling it a step forward in ensuring equal opportunities for women in various industries.
At the inauguration, CM Yadav emphasized the importance of women in Indian society, both in culture and as pillars of families. He remarked that this hotel not only reflects the strength of women but also demonstrates the state’s dedication to supporting their leadership in tourism. This project is a unique example of how women’s empowerment can be woven into the broader development goals of the state.
In addition to this, the Chief Minister shared the tourism success story of Madhya Pradesh, noting that the state has recorded an impressive increase in tourist numbers, with approximately 11 crore visitors this year. He credited the collaborative efforts of stakeholders for this achievement, which has significantly contributed to the state’s economy. The introduction of Amaltas, he said, will add to the state’s tourism appeal by offering visitors a distinctive experience managed entirely by women.
During the event, CM Yadav also visited Raj Bhawan in Pachmarhi and was seen enjoying a game of billiards, highlighting the relaxed and picturesque environment of the region. Pachmarhi, known for its scenic beauty and tranquil atmosphere, continues to be a major draw for tourists, and the launch of this all-women-operated hotel is expected to further boost its reputation as a progressive and welcoming destination.
The inauguration of Amaltas marks a significant milestone for both tourism and women’s empowerment in Madhya Pradesh. It sets a precedent for other regions to follow, merging social inclusivity with tourism development. This initiative is expected to inspire similar projects across the state, reinforcing Madhya Pradesh’s position as a leader in promoting both gender equality and tourism excellence.
