Madhya Pradesh Government has started special Sanjeevani Tele Health Seva for citizens in Bhopal and Indore, the two districts most seriously hit by the COVID 19 pandemic in the state. This service is being offered by Bharat Financial Inclusion Limited (recently merged into IndusInd Bank) and Apollo Tele Health’s Foundation, under Corporate Social Responsibility to the state government.
Sanjeevani Tele Help Service is available 24 hours a day and will provide specialized medical services in nine specialities like general medicine, heart disease, paediatric, gynaecology, orthopaedic, ENT to name a few, by about 25 physicians/ experts from Apollo Telemedicine Network, Hyderabad. The toll-free call service (1800-103-7378) will help patients with non-COVID 19 related issues to seek timely medical help at an emergency. The patient will have to give his name, age, description of the disease and current symptoms, on the basis of which the doctor (general physician/ specialist) will advise and send the names of medicines through SMS and email. Eventually, by showing this prescription, the patient will be able to buy the medicine from anywhere.
Information and services related to COVID-19 will continue to be available on State Government’s Helpline numbers 104 and 181 as before. For Sanjeevani TeleHealth Seva, people of Indore and Bhopal have to dial 1800-103-7378 and their queries will be answered.
This toll-free number has been constantly flooded with queries, receiving over 200 calls within a few hours of being launched. Accounting for the same, Dr Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director- Apollo Hospitals Group said, “The move to launch a telehealth service in the hotspot cities of Indore and Bhopal is a highly welcome initiative. We would like to appreciate and congratulate the state Government for recognising this void and acting quickly to fill it. We are happy to become an enabler in this effort and our doctors will proactively help patients to the best of their abilities.”
