At the Regional Industry Conclave in Jabalpur, Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, Minister of State for Tourism and Culture (Independent Charge), announced fresh bids for the development of major historical sites in Madhya Pradesh. He stressed the state’s great tourism potential, highlighting its historical and cultural history, which attracts people from all over the world. Lodhi noted ongoing attempts to create 23 places related with Lord Shri Ram’s forest trek, which are inspired by the Mahakal Lok paradigm. He also noted increased connectivity through the PM Shri Air Seva Yojana and an agreement with Gujarat to develop a cruise service connecting the Statue of Oneness in Omkareshwar to the Statue of Unity in Gujarat.
Principal Secretary Sheo Shekhar Shukla emphasized the state’s abundance of natural and cultural attractions, which include national parks, sanctuaries, tiger reserves, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and Jyotirlingas. The state’s Tourism Policy 2019 makes it easier for investors by implementing a transparent e-tendering procedure. It also provides a 30% capital subsidy up to Rs 90 crore, with extra incentives for rural and remote region projects and investments in branded categories.
New tenders will be released for historical assets including Lakshmipur Palace in the Panna Tiger Reserve, Malkam Kothi near Mandu, Gond Palace in Bhopal, and Mohangarh Fort in Tikamgarh. There are about 400 hectares of investment land available in key places like as Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, and Khajuraho. Properties such as Hotel Lake View in Bhopal, Tent City, and golf courses in Panchmarhi and Bhopal would be granted using the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
The discussion ended with businesspeople discussing their good experiences and investment potential in Madhya Pradesh’s thriving tourist industry. Lodhi’s plea for investment underlined the sector’s tremendous potential, with the goal of boosting the state’s economic growth and tourism attractiveness through strategic development and private investment.
