Under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Madhya Pradesh rapidly transformed into a Digital State, fueled by strong investor confidence, a surge in IT sector investments, and the introduction of progressive policies across multiple sectors.
Over the past year, the State Government proactively organized Regional Industry Conclaves (RICs) and conducted Road Shows across major Indian cities and internationally in the UK, Germany, and Japan. These initiatives successfully attracted global investors, culminating in a grand showcase during the Global Investors Summit (GIS) held in Bhopal this February. GIS- Bhopal marked a pivotal moment in elevating Madhya Pradesh’s industrial landscape, especially in the IT sector, positioning the State as a rising force in technology and innovation.
Building upon this momentum, the first-ever MP Tech Growth Conclave-2025 was held on Sunday at the Brilliant Convention Centre, Indore. The event brought together global technology leaders, policymakers, and investors to further amplify Madhya Pradesh’s digital vision.
In line with the State’s ambition to drive digital innovation, two cities in Madhya Pradesh were selected to be developed as AI model cities under a pilot project that had already received in- principle approval from Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. Artificial intelligence was actively deployed in sectors such as AgriTech, School Education, Forest Management, Electricity, and Policing, showcasing the State’s commitment to embracing futuristic technologies.
Adding another jewel to its crown, Madhya Pradesh hosted the nation’s first Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ) in Gwalior, with an investment commitment of ₹12,000 crore, generating approximately 5,000 jobs. This groundbreaking initiative aimed to manufacture telecom equipment like SIM cards, chips, antennas, and devices, while also fostering research and development in next-generation 6G technologies. Industry giants such as Dixon, Voycon, IBM, Nixon, and Ericsson committed investments in this pioneering zone.
Investor enthusiasm was evident, with strong demand for nearly 70 acres in the Gwalior IT Park and 300 acres in the SADA (Special Area Development Authority) region. Responding to this momentum, the Chief Minister directed the transfer of 271 hectares of land in SADA Gwalior to the Department of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, laying the groundwork for future expansion.
Complementing these initiatives, the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) 2.0 project aimed to revolutionize electronics manufacturing in the state. New EMCs were developed at Bandikhedi on Berasia Road in Bhopal and in Jabalpur, boosting India’s electronics sector and positioning Madhya Pradesh at the forefront of this growth.
The outcomes of GIS-Bhopal clearly demonstrated Madhya Pradesh’s successful transition from a prospective investment destination to a thriving industrial hub, particularly in the IT, ITES, and ESDM sectors. Nearly 100 IT companies proposed investments worth ₹34,000 crore during GIS, aiming to create over 200,000 employment opportunities. Impressively, 28 of these projects already began moving towards implementation within just two months.
Indore and Bhopal emerged as key technology hubs, attracting significant investments in sectors such as electronic manufacturing, KPOs, BPOs, and data centers. The establishment of data centers, Centers of Excellence, Incubation Centers, and a vibrant IT start-up ecosystem further highlighted the State’s digital renaissance.
At the MP Tech Growth Conclave-2025, stakeholders, digital experts, and investors were briefed about the State’s technology-driven economic vision. On this occasion, major policy announcements were made, including guidelines for Global Capability Centers (GCCs), semiconductors, comics and extended reality (XR), and drones. New policies for the GCC, IT, ITES, semiconductors, drones, and AVGC-XR sectors were unveiled, significantly contributing to Madhya Pradesh’s emergence as a leading Digital State.
In addition, the State Government actively fostered an entrepreneurial culture, supported start- ups, promoted tax reductions on natural gas, and developed IT parks with walk-to-work facilities under the Digital Economy Mission. Efforts were also undertaken to promote AI adoption across industries.
The MP Tech Growth Conclave-2025 served as a defining moment in Madhya Pradesh’s digital journey, providing a powerful platform for forging lasting partnerships with leaders of the digital industry. Through these bold initiatives, Madhya Pradesh steadily carved out a distinct identity in India’s booming IT sector and reinforced its place as a true Digital State.
