In a major development for India’s drone industry, IZI has commissioned a state-of-the-art drone manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh, marking a significant step toward expanding domestic production of commercial and industrial drones. Spread across 50,000 square feet, the facility features advanced assembly lines capable of producing up to 3,000 drones per month. On an annual basis, the company expects to manufacture around 10,000 consumer drones and 1,000 industrial drones, catering to sectors such as surveillance, agriculture, mapping, and enterprise solutions.
The new unit reflects IZI’s broader commitment to strengthening India’s self-reliance in technology and manufacturing. By focusing on in-house processes including testing, component integration, and electronics manufacturing, the company aims to enhance efficiency, maintain strict quality standards, and accelerate product development cycles. The facility is also expected to generate approximately 150 to 200 direct and indirect jobs across engineering, manufacturing, operations, and product development, contributing to regional economic growth.
With rising demand for drones across multiple industries, IZI plans to initially serve the domestic market and gradually explore export opportunities. The launch of this facility not only supports India’s vision of becoming a global technology and manufacturing hub but also reinforces the growing momentum of the country’s startup-driven innovation ecosystem.
