Madhya Pradesh is set for a significant development as ITC, a diverse conglomerate, announces plans to invest a substantial sum of Rs 1,500 crore. This investment will establish two groundbreaking facilities: an integrated food manufacturing and logistics hub and a modern sustainable packaging products manufacturing unit in Sehore.
Spanning a vast expanse of approximately 57 acres, these two projects are poised to revitalize both the agricultural and manufacturing sectors within Madhya Pradesh. ITC expressed its commitment to nurturing sustainable value chains, stating that these initiatives will collectively require the aforementioned investment, which will spread throughout the region, generating economic opportunities.
The food manufacturing plant will be a busy place, producing ITC’s well-liked products, including the famous Aashirvaad atta brand, Sunfeast biscuits, and the popular ‘YiPPee!’ noodles. At the same time, the molded fiber products facility will be a pioneer in eco-friendly packaging, offering green alternatives for sectors like electronics, FMCG, and the food and beverage industry, thus contributing significantly to reducing plastic usage.
ITC’s strategic investment in the Sehore food processing sector is expected to improve the state’s manufacturing landscape and strengthen inclusive agricultural value chains. Recognizing the critical role of the food processing sector, which sits at the crossroads of agriculture, industry, and services, ITC envisions a multifaceted contribution to the state’s economy by enhancing the overall competitiveness of the food value chain.
This substantial investment by ITC promises to transform Madhya Pradesh’s industrial landscape and promote sustainability and innovation in food manufacturing and packaging, marking a significant milestone in the region’s economic growth.
