The Institute of Company Secretaries of India held its 48th National Convention of Company Secretaries at Amber Convention Centre Indore, on the theme ‘Governance: From Grassroots to Global’.
Held from 17th-19th December, this was the first time in last 52 years of ICSI that the National Convention was organized in Indore, making it the first city of Madhya Pradesh to host this convention. The three day convention saw MP Shankar Lalwani and MOS of Parliamentary affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal inaugurating the event on first day while Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla and Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur were present in the closing ceremony, being the Chief Guest (virtually) and addressing the valedictory session (personally) as the Guest of honour, respectively, on the last day.
A hybrid convention, over 4000 company secretaries attended the ceremony in physical as well as through virtual mode and listened to National Leaders and Professionals from across the globe. The National Convention culminated with a special motivational address given by Swami Vishnuprapanacharya ji, on the last day.
The second day saw eminent personalities like IAS officer Smita Bhardwaj- Managing Director of MP Finance Corporation, IAS officer Aditi Garg- CEO of Indore Smart City and Rohan Saxena, Executive Director of MP Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) addressing the participants. The day ended with a special session on Exploring Indian Ancient Scripture: Governance Lessons of the Future where an interesting mix of corporate and spiritual leaders deliberated on how the learnings of ancient India are necessary for corporates and professionals in balancing the interest and maximizing value for all their stakeholders.

Members of Parliament/ Former Ministers, Directors of IIMs, IAS Officers and Industry/Opinion Leaders of the country addressed the participants on following themes:

ICSI’s fourth Overseas Centre, situated in Singapore, was also inaugurated virtually at this event.
