In a significant move towards strengthening India’s renewable energy sector, Fujiyama Power Systems has announced plans to establish a new 1.2 GW TopCon solar cell manufacturing plant in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh. This expansion reflects the company’s commitment to increasing domestic solar production and supporting the growing demand for clean energy solutions.
The company already runs a 1 GW Mono PERC solar cell manufacturing unit in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh. With the addition of the Ratlam facility, Fujiyama aims to improve its manufacturing capacity and create a stronger supply chain within the solar industry.
The new plant is expected to begin commercial operations by the first quarter of FY2028. The project will involve an estimated investment of around ₹350 crore, which the company plans to finance through a mix of internal funds and debt.
According to the company, this expansion will help improve cost efficiency, strengthen backward integration, and ensure a steady supply of high-quality solar cells. It will also support India’s mission of boosting renewable energy production and reducing dependence on imports.
The development is likely to create new employment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh and contribute to the state’s growing industrial and clean energy ecosystem.
