Chhattisgarh has taken a strong step toward strengthening its digital and startup landscape by entering into a partnership with the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI). The agreement reflects the state government’s broader vision of transforming Chhattisgarh into a technology-driven economy. The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, highlighting the administration’s focus on promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and advanced electronics manufacturing within the state.
Through this collaboration, the government aims to move beyond its traditional resource-based identity and build a strong foundation in information technology, IT-enabled services, and emerging tech sectors. A key component of the initiative is the establishment of a Centre of Entrepreneurship that will nurture startups working in areas such as artificial intelligence, smart technologies, and agritech. The centre will offer incubation support, mentorship, funding guidance, and access to technical infrastructure, enabling young entrepreneurs to develop and scale their ideas without relocating to bigger cities.
In addition, plans are underway to set up an Electronics System Design and Development (ESDD) facility to strengthen hardware innovation in the state. This centre is expected to support dozens of hardware startups and MSMEs each year by providing product design, prototyping, testing, and skill development facilities—resources that are often difficult for early-stage ventures to access due to high costs. By creating this ecosystem locally, the government hopes to generate employment opportunities and reduce the migration of skilled youth.
With STPI’s nationwide experience in building technology infrastructure and supporting startups, the partnership is expected to connect Chhattisgarh’s emerging ventures to broader national networks and best practices. Overall, the initiative marks a significant step in positioning the state as an emerging hub for innovation, digital growth, and electronics manufacturing in India.
