Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh – During the recent Regional Industry Conclave (RIC) in Gwalior, the Adani Group proposed an investment of Rs 3,500 crore in Madhya Pradesh, which will significantly strengthen the state’s industrial landscape. This investment is part of a larger push to boost industrial growth across the state, with the conference witnessing total investment proposals of Rs 8,000 crore, possibly creating 35,000 employment.
Key Projects by Adani Group
Karan Adani, the Managing Director of Adani Ports and SEZ, has announced two important projects as part of this commitment. The first is a 2 million-tonne cement grinding unit to be built in Guna, while the second is a cutting-edge propelling unit for defense systems in Shivpur. Furthermore, the company intends to establish a women-owned jacket factory in Badarwas, so contributing to the region’s economic progress. These activities are estimated to create more than 3,500 direct and indirect employment.
The State Government’s Vision for Equal Industrial Growth
Following the conference, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav spoke with the media, reiterating the government’s commitment to achieving balanced industrial growth in Madhya Pradesh. He emphasized the success of past RICs in Ujjain and Jabalpur, and stated that the Gwalior Conclave’s success demonstrates the state’s progress toward this aim. The state administration intends to sustain this pace with future RICs in Sagar and Rewa districts in September and October, respectively.
Collaborations & Future Plans
In addition to the Adani Group’s declarations, conversations were undertaken with Reliance Bio Energy Vice President Vivek Taneja about the possibility of producing renewable energy in the Chambal ravines. The Chief Minister pledged full support for such businesses on non-agricultural land, emphasizing the state’s willingness to pursue long-term industrial projects.
Other Major Investment Proposals
Other firms made major investment promises during the conference, including Elixir Industries (Rs 1,000 crore), SSG Furnishing Solutions (Rs 750 crore), Marvel Vinyl (Rs 620 crore), and Jamna Auto (Rs 532 crore). The Chief Minister gave letters of intent to 120 units, who would be given 268 acres of land to conduct their activities. These investments are estimated to generate an extra Rs 1,700 crore and create over 7,000 employment.
In the MSME sector, 19 firms have committed to investing Rs 265 crore, creating around 1,000 job possibilities.
A Platform for Global and National Collaboration
The Gwalior Conclave drew over 4,000 attendees, including 15 international participants, demonstrating the worldwide interest in Madhya Pradesh’s economic potential. Key dignitaries such as Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia and Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar attended the ceremony and expressed their support for the state’s economic objectives.
With these ambitious initiatives and partnerships, Madhya Pradesh is prepared for a new age of industrial prosperity, drawing both domestic and foreign investments that promise to change the state’s economy.
