In a landmark move to rejuvenate the cooperative sector in Madhya Pradesh, Cooperative Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang inaugurated the ‘CPPP Investment Promotion Wing’ at the office of the Cooperative Commissioner in Vindhyachal Bhawan.
The newly launched wing is designed to function as a single-window system for dialogue, consultation, and approvals, offering a streamlined approach for investors, farmers, and cooperative societies. It features a dedicated contact and reception area to provide support and information to stakeholders involved in cooperative and agricultural ventures.
During the inauguration, Minister Sarang highlighted the critical role cooperatives play in strengthening the grassroots economy and advancing national development goals. He noted that the Cooperative Public Private Partnership (CPPP) model being adopted in Madhya Pradesh has gained widespread recognition and is poised to bring about a transformative revolution in the cooperative sector.
He emphasized that the new wing will simplify procedures related to cooperative investments and activities, fostering a more integrated and transparent ecosystem. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat by 2047,” the Minister said that cooperatives are essential in realizing this aspiration.
Sarang further noted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the state has been effectively implementing the “Prosperity through Cooperation” approach, positioning the CPPP model as a national benchmark.
The Minister recalled that the CPPP concept was first introduced during the Global Investors Summit, which resulted in the signing of 19 MoUs worth approximately ₹2,305 crore with leading entities like Reliance, Baidyanath, and Majestic Basmati Rice.
He explained that this innovative model allows cooperative institutions, especially Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), to collaborate with private investors. This partnership not only boosts farmers’ income through better price realization but also expands overall economic activity. For private enterprises, the model ensures access to quality raw materials directly from rural producers, creating a win-win scenario.
Sarang also revealed that the central government is considering replicating the CPPP model at the national level, recognizing its success in Madhya Pradesh. He stressed that the initiative supports both the financial sustainability of cooperatives and the generation of local employment, effectively bridging rural and urban economies.
The launch event was attended by several senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary Ashok Barnwal, Cooperative Commissioner Manoj Pushp, and Managing Director of the Marketing Federation Alok Kumar Singh. Representatives from partner companies like Reliance, Pratibha Syntex, and Mushroom World also participated.
Shri Ambrish Vaidya, the Nodal Officer of the newly launched wing, expressed his gratitude to all attendees for their support and encouragement, marking a promising beginning for this ambitious initiative.
