Madhya Pradesh is swiftly positioning itself as a rising hub in India’s apparel and textile industry. With significant investments pouring into the Jetapur Industrial Area, the sector is set to play a vital role in the state’s economic and social development.
The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) recently announced that leading textile companies are collectively investing Rs. 70 crore (US $8.4 million) to establish manufacturing units in Jetapur. Spanning over 200 hectares, Jetapur offers ideal conditions for textile production, drawing both domestic and global attention.
So far, land has been allotted to 25 companies at the site. Among the most prominent are Kashida Apparels and Sead Apparels, both making waves not just through financial commitment but also by driving impactful employment initiatives.
Kashida Apparels Private Limited has already invested Rs. 108 crore (US $12.94 million) and employed over 800 women from 14 neighboring villages. With plans to scale up and hire 1,500 women by the end of 2025, the company is paving the way for inclusive growth. Sead Apparels, part of the renowned Pearl Global Group, is expected to generate 4,000 jobs—90% of which will be for women.
“The apparel industry is not only boosting industrial growth but also transforming lives through large-scale women’s employment,” said Himanshu Prajapati, Executive Director of MPIDC. “This progress is a reflection of our broader vision for sustainable and inclusive development across Madhya Pradesh.”
MPIDC’s annual reports highlight a consistent rise in textile investments across the state, fueled by supportive policies, a skilled workforce, and robust infrastructure. Ongoing construction of factory units, alongside enhancements such as upgraded drainage systems, further demonstrate the state’s commitment to creating an industrial ecosystem that thrives year-round.
With these strategic efforts, Madhya Pradesh is steadily emerging as a prime destination for textile and apparel manufacturing in India—fueling both economic momentum and social empowerment.
