Mandu, Madhya Pradesh — ITC Hotels has made a crucial step toward growing its footprint in Madhya Pradesh by signing a management arrangement with Lunera Castle Resort & Spa in Bhopal. This cooperation will see the ancient ‘Lunera ki Sarai’ transformed into a magnificent facility under the Welcomhotel brand, appropriately titled Welcomhotel Mandu.
A Heritage Reimagined
The Lunera ki Sarai, a historic landmark dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries, is slated to be restored as Welcomhotel Mandu. Mandu, often spelled Mandav, is an old fort city famed for its beautiful architecture, rich history, and romantic mythology. The new Welcomhotel will honor its tradition while providing contemporary conveniences to its guests. The complex, which includes 94 well-appointed rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, conference spaces, a spa, and a swimming pool, is intended to provide a combination of luxury with historical charm.
ITC Hotels is expanding its footprint in Madhya Pradesh
This expansion boosts ITC Hotels’ total footprint in Madhya Pradesh to over 540 keys. The company currently runs WelcomHeritage properties in Pench and Pachmarhi, and it plans to open Welcomhotels in Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Bhopal. The rehabilitation of Lunera ki Sarai will surely increase Mandu’s appeal as a top tourist destination in the state.
Honoring the past and embracing the future
Anil Chadha, Chief Executive of ITC Hotels, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “We are pleased to be entrusted with the heritage of Lunera ki Sarai.
