Ujjain is planning to construct its first Information Technology (IT) Park, a watershed moment in Madhya Pradesh’s technological environment. Rajesh Rathod, Executive Director of the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC), recently unveiled the initiative, highlighting its potential to transform Ujjain into a vibrant center of innovation and technical advancement.
His grandiose initiative, a first for Ujjain, will take up 2.16 hectares of land specifically reserved for the IT Park. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) was filed, outlining a thorough strategy for the facility, which is planned to be built in two phases. The initial phase is expected to cost roughly INR 67 crore, demonstrating a significant commitment to promoting technology in the region.
Phase one focuses on infrastructure and the startup ecosystem
The first phase of the IT Park would include developing the infrastructure required to attract and accommodate diverse IT firms. According to Rathod, the IT Park is built as a plug-and-play facility, which means that firms will have access to ready-to-use facilities complete with key services, allowing them to focus only on their core activities.
The park will be purposefully designed to serve a wide range of enterprises, from established IT firms to emerging startups. This involves establishing an incubation center where businesses may flourish in a friendly atmosphere with tools to help them develop and innovate.
