The lush green trails of Pachmarhi are set to come alive with rhythmic footsteps and monsoon energy as the 7th edition of the Pachmarhi Monsoon Marathon takes place on Sunday, July 13, 2025. Organized by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board in association with Adventures and You, this much-anticipated event has become a unique celebration that brings together fitness, nature, and culture in India’s heartland. Certified by World Athletics and AIMS, the marathon has grown into an internationally recognized race that attracts passionate runners from across India and abroad.
Set against the enchanting backdrop of Pachmarhi—the only hill station in Madhya Pradesh and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve—the marathon offers a soulful journey through misty forests, heritage trails, and rain-soaked terrain. The event features four race categories tailored to various age groups and fitness levels: a 5K Family Fun Run, a 10K Endurance Run, a 21K Half Marathon, and a challenging 42K Full Marathon, which includes a grueling 1,000-meter elevation gain—making it one of the toughest hill marathons in India. Starting and finishing at MPT Glen View, the race route promises a breathtaking blend of natural beauty and physical challenge.
Participants can expect a premium running experience, with perks including an RFID timing chip, dri-fit t-shirt, finisher’s medal, completion certificate, refreshments, and full route support. Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age group. With limited registrations available, the marathon ensures quality, safety, and an unforgettable experience for all.
Beyond the physical challenge, the Pachmarhi Monsoon Marathon is a tribute to resilience and harmony with nature. It aims to foster community spirit, promote eco-tourism, and position Madhya Pradesh as a clean, green, and safe monsoon destination. The marathon is more than a sporting event—it’s a movement that celebrates human grit, the beauty of the Indian monsoon, and the rich heritage of Pachmarhi.
Situated at 1,067 meters in the Satpura Range, Pachmarhi offers the perfect monsoon escape. Runners and visitors alike can immerse themselves in its lush green cover, scenic waterfalls like Bee Falls and Apsara Vihar, and ancient landmarks like the Pandava Caves. With over 1,800 registrations already in, this year’s edition is set to host thousands of fitness enthusiasts, nature lovers, and cultural explorers on a journey unlike any other.
Easily accessible by air, rail, and road, Pachmarhi welcomes participants via Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal (195 km), Pipariya Railway Station (50 km), or by road through well-connected routes from Bhopal, Jabalpur, Nagpur, and beyond. The 2025 Pachmarhi Monsoon Marathon promises to be more than just a race—it’s where fitness meets nature, and where every runner becomes part of a larger story woven through rain, resilience, and the spirit of Madhya Pradesh.
