Indore: The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) has recently received substantial interest from enterprises in southern India, particularly Coimbatore and Tiruppur. The corporation has received 15 Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from these locations, indicating prospective investments of more than Rs 1,000 crore in the textile and apparel sector in Indore.
The EOIs originate from a wide range of companies, including spinning mills, textile manufacturers, agricultural pump producers, and engineering organizations. These companies are anxious to purchase land in and around Indore, driven by the state’s aggressive attempts to attract investment. The interest stems from successful roadshows held by the Madhya Pradesh government in southern India, when firms were asked to examine potential in the state.
“We received 15 EOIs from businesses in Tiruppur and Coimbatore. These investment intentions realized as a result of the MP government’s roadshows in those regions, which invited industries to establish a presence in MP. “These industries have proposed an estimated investment of more than Rs. 1,000 crore,” said Sapna Jain, Executive Director of MPIDC Indore.
Jain further mentioned the widespread interest from various sectors, stating that multiple delegations have visited Madhya Pradesh to evaluate possible land parcels. “We have showcased land parcels to more than 20 delegations thus far, while many more are in the pipeline to confirm the dates,” she told me.
A spinning unit group from Coimbatore paid a remarkable visit, exploring the projected PM Mitra Park in Dhar district as well as other industrial zones around the state. The PM Mitra Park, which is now being developed in Bhainsola village, Dhar district, covers roughly 1,563 acres. It is one of seven such parks being built in India and will act as a hub for the textile, garment, and associated sectors, providing common facilities, labs, upskilling centers, training units, logistics, housing, and exhibition spaces.
In addition to the PM Mitra Park, the Jhanjharwada industrial region in Neemuch has sparked interest from the textile and apparel sectors. MPIDC, which seeks further investments from surrounding states, has suggested expanding industrial regions in Mandsaur, Neemuch, Burhanpur, and Agar-Malwa.
With the recent surge of EOIs and continuous interest from numerous businesses, Madhya Pradesh is establishing itself as a key hub for textile, garment, and engineering industries, which has the potential to change the Indore region’s economy.
