The upcoming MP–UP Cooperation Convention 2026 in Varanasi marks a significant move toward strengthening ties between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the event aims to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, and stakeholders to focus on collaboration across multiple sectors. The convention reflects a shared vision of economic growth, improved infrastructure, and better coordination between the two states.
A key highlight of the event is the focus on religious tourism, especially around Kashi Vishwanath Dham. Delegates will study crowd management, infrastructure planning, and pilgrim services at the site to understand how modern urban planning can enhance visitor experience. This learning will help in developing a structured tourism circuit connecting Kashi, Ujjain, and Chitrakoot, making spiritual travel more organized and accessible.
The convention will also emphasize economic collaboration through discussions on ODOP (One District One Product), GI tagging, and export promotion. By involving organizations like Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation and various industry stakeholders, both states aim to create a unified platform for branding and marketing local products. This initiative is expected to boost artisans, small businesses, and regional industries by expanding their reach in national and global markets.
In addition to tourism and trade, the event will witness the signing of MoUs to formalize partnerships in sectors like logistics, textiles, agriculture, and skill development. The convention is designed not just as a policy discussion forum but as a practical step toward implementation. With strong participation from industries and government bodies, it is expected to pave the way for sustainable development and long-term economic cooperation between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
