The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation is set to unveil three new tourism ventures within the next two months, aimed at boosting the state’s tourist appeal. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is expected to inaugurate these projects, enhancing the state’s hospitality offerings.

A significant highlight is the newly developed tourist resort at Sarsi, located near the Bansagar backwater in Shahdol district. Spread across 15 acres, the resort will offer water-related activities, drawing inspiration from the Hanuwantiya model in Khandwa district. The Sarsi resort, built under the Central Government’s Swadesh Darshan Yojna, features two boat clubs and promises a unique water-based tourism experience. The resort’s inauguration is anticipated on October 26.

Additionally, a heritage hotel at Maharajwada, near the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, will soon be open to visitors. The hotel, comprising 21 rooms and three dining venues — Damaru restaurant, a rooftop restaurant, and another yet-to-be-named eatery — offers a breathtaking view of the Mahakal temple from its rooftop.

The third project is the Neelambar Cottage in Pachmarhi, which is undergoing renovation and modernization. Taken over by the Tourism Development Corporation from SADA, the 16-room cottage is being revamped to offer a modern experience to tourists. The corporation aims to launch the Ujjain hotel and Pachmarhi cottage in the coming month.

Managing Director of the corporation, Ilayaraja T, stated that the Sarsi resort will be inaugurated in October, with the other two projects to follow soon after. These new developments are part of the state’s ongoing efforts to enhance its tourism infrastructure and attract more visitors.
