Madhya Pradesh Tourism department has launched a new scheme ‘workation’ where tourists/ employees can sit on the bank of a river or relax in a jungle, while working for their office.
All the work from home employees can now sit in nature’s lap, relax and work for their respective official work at the MPSTDC’s properties. Materialized from the boredom of work from home concept during COVID-19 lockdown, the industry has been interpreting it as “vacation and work” that can be done together in a more relaxing and vibrant environment, other than the monotonous routine of home.
In the first phase, the state government will set up ‘work stations’ in five destinations initially, which include Hinglaj at Gandhisagar dam, Hanuwantiya, Pachmarhi, Tamia and Madhai. The tourism board has ensured that strong WIFI connectivity and proper electricity is provided in and around each place so that visitors can work from their chosen destination, without facing any hindrance or inconvenience. Other jungle resorts are too on the list which will be added soon.
“Work from home has become a reality during the corona pandemic. We have identified five properties that will attract such employees. Some more properties will be developed on the same theme later,” MP Tourism Development Corporation MD S Vishwanathan said.
Another official of the tourism department informed that clients will be provided proper sanitization of their living units besides open spaces that will be used as work stations. Besides high speed internet and power backup, healthy and fresh meals will also be ensured so that the guests enjoy a comfortable stay in the lap of nature.
