Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Energy’s CarbonLite Solutions division has won significant orders from NTPC Ltd for the development of two ultra-super-critical thermal power plants in India, with a combined capacity of 4,000 MW. The projects are located in Gadarwara, Madhya Pradesh, and Nabinagar, Bihar, and represent a key step forward in L&T’s ongoing efforts to enhance India’s power generation infrastructure.
The projects include the construction of a 2×800 MW Stage-II thermal power plant at Gadarwara and a 3×800 MW Stage-II thermal power plant at Nabinagar. Both projects will feature state-of-the-art technology and aim to meet growing energy demands while focusing on sustainability and efficiency.
Scope of Work and Key Components
As part of the contract, L&T will handle a broad range of responsibilities, including the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, and commissioning of critical components such as boilers, turbines, electrostatic precipitators, and related mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil works.
