In a review meeting held on the COVID-19 pandemic in the state, it was announced that standalone and neighbourhood shops in streets and corners will be allowed to open across the state.
Chief secretary Iqbal Singh Bains mentioned that while these local kirana shops are permitted to be open, markets will not open in any districts of the state. Establishments like beauty salons and parlours, hotels, paan and tea shops will not open either.
The permission directive is applicable to all the districts which come under Orange zone (zero Covid-19 patients detected in two weeks, except in ‘containment areas’ of the district). However, the district collectors can direct their district crisis management group to take stock of the local requirements and decide accordingly. Construction work can begin in green and orange zone, if the situation is in control and there is no infected patient, as ordered by Sanjay Dubey- Principal Secretary, Urban administration. But, number of workers in these projects have to informed beforehand to the state government and their project officers.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, also present at the meeting, said that the state has enough stock of testing kit, PPE kit, with more than 2000 tests are being conducted daily. Testing facility in Aurbindo hospital, Indore and RD Gardi hospital, Ujjain would begin from Wednesday. He also added it was a matter of happiness that Coronavirus situation was improving in the state.
