The Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Chhattisgarh on January 7, 2026, at Nava Raipur, marking a major milestone in the state’s development journey. The MoU underscores a shared commitment to strengthening housing and urban infrastructure while supporting Chhattisgarh’s long-term vision for planned and sustainable growth.
As per the non-binding agreement, HUDCO may extend financial assistance of up to ₹1,00,000 crore over the next five years for the implementation of a wide range of housing and infrastructure projects across the state. The proposed funding is expected to support initiatives such as affordable housing, urban renewal, water supply, sanitation, roads, and other essential civic infrastructure. This collaboration aims to address the growing needs of urbanization while ensuring inclusive development across both urban and semi-urban areas.
The partnership is anticipated to accelerate project execution, enhance the quality of public infrastructure, and create significant employment opportunities in the state. By leveraging HUDCO’s financial strength and technical expertise, the Chhattisgarh government seeks to improve living standards, boost economic activity, and promote balanced regional development, reinforcing the state’s position as an emerging hub for sustainable urban growth.
