गुरू
यह शब्द सुनते ही दिल में तरह तरह की तस्वीरें उभरने लगती हैं। किसी को अपने छात्र जीवन में प्रभावित करने वाला शिक्षक याद आता है, किसी को खेल के मैदान पर कुछ सिखाने वाला प्रशिक्षक याद आता है, किसी को व्यावसायिक जिंदगी में कार्य सिखाने वाला व्यक्ति याद आता है और किसी को आध्यात्मिक प्रेरणा और जीवन ज्ञान देने वाले किसी संत या महात्मा का ध्यान आता है। शायद ही कोई ऐसा व्यक्ति होगा, जिसने कभी किसी व्यक्ति को कोई अपना गुरू न माना हो।
आखिर यह गुरु होता कौन है और ये हमें देता क्या है? गुरु द्वारा दी गई चीज को ज्ञान कहते हैं। इस लेन-देन का गवाह सिर्फ इंसान का अंतर्मन ही होता है। गुरु द्वारा दी गई शिक्षा या ज्ञान किसी भी तीसरे व्यक्ति के लिये समझ पाना असंभव है। यह सिर्फ लेने वाले व्यक्ति को मालूम होता है कि उसने किसी से क्या पाया या सीखा होता है। कई बार तो देने वाले व्यक्ति को भी पता नहीं होता कि उसने किसी को क्या दे दिया। द्रोणाचार्य और एकलव्य के किस्से से तो सभी वाकिफ हैं। स्वयं द्रोणाचार्य को पता नहीं था कि एकलव्य जैसा महान धनुर्धारी, उनका शिष्य है।
वस्तुतः किसी व्यक्ति की क्षमता को विकसित करने में किसी मार्गदर्शक की अहम भूमिका होती है। हम में से कोई भी व्यक्ति बिना किसी मार्गदर्शन या प्रेरणा के कहीं नहीं पहुंच सकता। हम सभी के जीवन में, विभिन्न समय पर, विभिन्न विषयों के गुरुओं का प्रवेश होता है और फिर किसी विशेष ज्ञानी के प्रति हमारे दिल में असीम श्रद्धा पैदा हो जाती है। मानव जीवन के सभी अनुत्तरित प्रश्नों का समाधान, हमें अध्यात्म में ही प्राप्त होता है,अतः आध्यात्मिक गुरूओं की परंपरा युगों युगों से चली आ रही है। रामायण काल में रिषि वशिष्ठ राजगुरू रहे और कृपाचार्य, महाभारत काल में । जिस व्यक्ति को गुरु का साथ न मिला हो, वह कभी भी गुरु की महत्ता को समझ ही नहीं सकता, परंतु जिसे गुरु का सानिध्य और आशीर्वाद मिला हो, वह एक क्षण क्षण के लिए भी, गुरु की महत्ता को अनदेखा नहीं कर सकता।
मुझे अपने जीवन का वह दिन और वह पल याद है जब मैंने अपने गुरु से गुरुदीक्षा ली थीं।उस दिन के पहले तक मुझे गुरु की महत्ता कभी समझ नहीं आई थी। परंतु शिष्यत्व ग्रहण करने के बाद से जीवन में आये परिवर्तन से में खुद भी आश्चर्यचकित हो जाता हूँ ।गुरूदक्षिणा में सिर्फ़ दो वचन दिये और गुरु ने अपनी तपस्या और पुण्य का एक हिस्सा, अन्य करोड़ों शिष्यों की तरह मुझे भी देने का आशीर्वाद दिया। जिस तरह एक अरबपति की संपत्ति का एक हिस्सा पाते ही, एक साधारण व्यक्ति धनवान हो जाता है, उसी तरह का अनुभव मुझे स्वयं को हुआ।वर्ना यह समझ पाना असंभव था कि जीवन की चुनौतियों से लड़ने की अपेक्षित आत्मशक्ति मुझमें कहाँ से आ जाती है।मुश्किलों पर विजय पाना और कई बार परास्त होते हुये भी, एक विजयी की तरह इनके पार हो जाना, गुरू की महान शक्ति एवं प्रेरणा का ही प्रवाह लगता है ।
हमारी धर्म व्यवस्था और संस्कारों में स्थापित, गुरु की परंपरा और इसकी शक्ति सचमुच महान है और हम सभी को इस परंपरा का पालन अवश्य करना चाहिये ॥

Guru
On hearing this word, various images will start emerging in our mind. Some of us remember the teacher who influenced them in their student life, some remember the coach who taught them something in sports, some will remember the person who taught them the work in their professional life and some may remember a saint or a Mahatma who gave them spiritual inspiration and life wisdom. There will not be a single person on this earth, who has never considered someone as his/ her Guru.
The question is, what is the tradition of a Guru and what do we get from a Guru in life? Guru is someone, who imparts the ‘Knowledge’ to people and disciples. It is ONLY the inner conscience and subconscious mind of a person, which is the witness of this transaction of Knowledge and how it has empowered the recipient. It is impossible for any third person to understand the Gyaan or knowledge given by the Gurus. Only the person who is receiving it knows what he has received or learned from someone. Many a times, even the person who is giving does not know what he has given to someone. Everyone is aware of the story of Dronacharya and Eklavya. Dronacharya himself did not know that a great archer like Eklavya was his own disciple.
In fact, a Guru is a life coach, who plays an important role in developing a person’s potential. None of us can reach anywhere without any guidance or inspiration. Gurus of different subjects enter the lives of all of us at different times and then we develop immense respect for a particular knowledgeable person in our hearts. For human race, all the unanswered questions of life are answered in Spirituality! Hence, spiritual Guru is most essential part of our Eco system since time immemorial. Raja Dashrath had Rishi Vashishth as Rajguru and Dhritraashtra had Kripacharya. One who doesn’t have the blessings of a Guru in life, will never understand the meaning & importance of a Guru, but one who has got the blessings of a Guru can’t forget the importance of a Guru even for a second!
I remember that day and that moment of my life when I took Guru Diksha from my Guru. Before that day, I had never understood the importance of a Guru. But after becoming a disciple, I myself am surprised by the changes that have come in my life. I made only two promises as Guru Dakshina and my Guru blessed me to give an equal part of his penance and powers of virtuous deeds, like he has given to crores of his other disciples. If an ordinary person gets a small part of a billionaire’s wealth, he automatically becomes a millionaire, I myself became much stronger and better person than I use to be before. It was but for Guru’s presence in my life, else would have been impossible for me to get the required self-confidence to fight the challenges in life. Overcoming most of the difficulties and at times feeling victorious, even after getting defeated, always seemed to be the flow of the great power and inspiration of my Guru.
The tradition of the Guru as established in our religious faith has huge power and benefits for every human being and we all must follow this tradition.
