Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the Sarsi Island Resort in Shahdol district, marking a significant addition to the state’s tourism offerings. The resort, built by the Tourism Department, is located in the picturesque backwater region of Bansagar Dam in the Rewa division and is set to become a major attraction for nature lovers and tourists from across the country.
This inauguration is part of the state government’s initiative to mark the completion of one year in office, with plans to present a new gift to the people of Madhya Pradesh each day. During the event, CM Yadav expressed his delight in dedicating the resort to the public. “This beautiful island resort is a testament to our ongoing efforts to promote tourism and highlight the natural beauty of Madhya Pradesh,” he said.
The Sarsi Island Resort boasts a variety of attractions, including three boat clubs for thrilling water sports, a restaurant, and eco-friendly accommodations with ten eco-huts. These huts allow guests to enjoy a stay close to nature while experiencing modern amenities. The resort also offers a modern conference room for corporate events and gatherings, making it a perfect destination for business and leisure alike.
Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary of the Tourism and Culture Department, emphasized the impact of the resort on the region’s tourism sector. “The Sarsi Island Resort, with its top-notch facilities, will attract a wide array of visitors, from adventure enthusiasts to families seeking a peaceful retreat. Its opening is expected to significantly boost tourism in Shahdol and contribute to the region’s development,” he added.
The resort also features health and recreational amenities such as a gym, library, and a play area for children, ensuring a wholesome experience for visitors of all ages. With its unique offerings, Sarsi Island Resort is poised to become a key attraction in Madhya Pradesh’s tourism landscape and a significant contributor to the economic growth of Shahdol district.
