The Avaada Group, a leading renewable energy company, aims to spend ₹5,000 crore in Madhya Pradesh. This big investment proposal was given at a one-on-one meeting between Avaada Group officials and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav during the Renewable Energy Investors Meet in Gandhinagar, which was opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Avaada Group focuses on large-scale renewable energy initiatives, such as solar modules, green hydrogen, green methanol, green ammonia, and sustainable aviation fuel. Their investment is expected to considerably benefit Madhya Pradesh’s renewable energy sector, which has experienced unprecedented expansion in recent years.

In addition to Avaada’s investment, the Wind Power Association requested the Chief Minister to look into wind parks in the state, citing the successful model of solar parks. Torrent Power advocated creating a strategy for pump hydro storage projects, while Sembcorp Group indicated interest in the planned Morena and Neemuch solar projects. Furthermore, the Borosil Group expressed an interest in developing a glass production plant for solar panels in the state.

During the ceremony, Chief Minister emphasized the state’s tremendous progress in renewable energy, with total capacity expanding from 500 megawatts in 2012 to 7,000 megawatts now, a fourteenfold increase. He predicted that by 2030, 50% of  Madhya Pradesh’s energy will come from renewable sources, with the state on track to create over 20,000 megawatts of renewable energy in the next years. He also mentioned that Harvard University’s curriculum includes the Rewa Solar Plant project as a case study, and that Madhya Pradesh is today an electrical surplus state, supplying power to the Delhi Metro.

This significant investment by the Avaada Group, together with other renewable energy efforts, strengthens Madhya Pradesh’s position as a crucial participant in India’s green energy future.
