Bhopal witnessed a major development in its air connectivity as Air India Express commenced commercial operations from Raja Bhoj Airport. The airline introduced daily flight services connecting Madhya Pradesh’s capital with New Delhi and Mumbai, providing passengers with more convenient direct travel options.
The new services connected Bhopal with two of India’s most important metropolitan cities, making travel easier for business professionals, tourists, students and other passengers. The direct routes were expected to support stronger economic and commercial connections between Bhopal and the two major cities.
The inaugural flight to New Delhi departed from Raja Bhoj Airport at 12:45 PM and reached Indira Gandhi International Airport at 2:15 PM. The first flight to Mumbai departed from Bhopal at 1:40 PM and arrived at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at 3:25 PM.
Air India Express also operated two daily flights between Bhopal and Delhi. One service departed Delhi in the morning and reached Bhopal shortly after noon, while the return flight left Bhopal at 12:45 PM. The second Delhi service operated later in the day, giving passengers an additional option for travelling between the two cities.
The introduction of these flights marked an important step in improving Bhopal’s connectivity with major business and commercial centres across India. Better air links were expected to benefit businesses, tourism and the overall movement of people between Madhya Pradesh and major metropolitan regions.
Passengers were able to book seats through Air India Express’s website, mobile application and other major booking platforms.
