Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has laid the foundation stone for the Chitrotpala International Film City along with a Tribal & Cultural Convention Centre in Naya Raipur, signalling a major push towards developing the state’s creative and cultural economy. Spread across around 95 acres, the project will begin with a first-phase investment of ₹150 crore.
The project is being developed by Rajnandini Entertainment Ltd and Indradeep Infra Ltd, with Tarun Rathi as the concessionaire. It aims to position Naya Raipur as a prominent destination for film production, cultural exchange, and tourism, while also creating sustainable employment and business opportunities for local communities.
Designed as a fully integrated film production ecosystem, the Chitrotpala International Film City will house modern studios, advanced technical infrastructure, and essential allied facilities. This setup is expected to enable filmmakers to carry out end-to-end production activities within Chhattisgarh, strengthening the state’s presence in the national film and entertainment landscape.
The first phase of the project is targeted for completion within approximately two years. Further development phases are planned thereafter, with additional investments estimated between ₹250 crore and ₹300 crore, which will significantly expand the scale and capabilities of the facility.
The initiative has also received support from the Ministry of Tourism under its Special Assistance Scheme, underlining its importance from a tourism and cultural development perspective. Once operational, the Film City and Convention Centre are expected to boost cultural tourism, promote tribal heritage, and enhance Naya Raipur’s status as a hub for creative industries and large-scale cultural events.
