Wildlife lovers have a reason to celebrate — Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park is all set to welcome visitors for a cheetah safari from October 1. For the first time, tourists will get the rare opportunity to witness the world’s fastest animal in the wild, as 16 cheetahs now roam freely in the park’s open forests.
To make the experience even more exciting, the tourism department is also planning a ‘Kuno Retreat’ that will offer comfortable stay and dining facilities, turning the safari into a full getaway. The forest department has already updated the official website with all safari details and launched a helpline for tourist queries.
Safari Booking & Costs
Bookings can be done online.
- A gypsy ride costs ₹4,500 for up to six people.
- Visitors who prefer to bring their own vehicle will pay ₹1,200.
Entry is permitted through Ahira Gate and Peoplewadi Gate — the same zones
where cheetahs were released into the wild.
According to Uttam Kumar Sharma, CCF and Field Director of Kuno National Park,
all preparations are in place to welcome tourists. He added that besides cheetahs,
visitors will also get to spot other wildlife species, making the safari a wholesome
jungle adventure.
With this step, Kuno National Park is not only opening its gates to tourists but also
giving India another unique wildlife attraction — one where the cheetah, extinct in
the country for over seven decades, can finally be seen running free again.
