In a significant development for Chhattisgarh‘s economic and healthcare landscape, two major investment proposals were discussed in a high-level meeting with Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai at Chhattisgarh Bhavan in New Delhi on Saturday.
Dr. Naresh Trehan, esteemed cardiologist and founder of Medanta Hospital, proposed the establishment of a world-class multi-speciality hospital in the state capital, Raipur. With a planned investment of approximately ₹500 crore, the proposed hospital aims to bring cutting-edge medical technology, expert healthcare professionals, and facilities for research and medical training to the region.
“This hospital will not only improve the standard of healthcare in Chhattisgarh but also serve as a centre for research and skill development,” said Dr. Trehan during the meeting.
In a parallel proposal, Ravi Jaipuria, Chairman of Varun Beverages Limited—one of the largest franchise bottlers of PepsiCo products—announced plans to establish a carbonated soft drinks and fruit juice manufacturing plant in Raipur. This project, with an estimated investment of over ₹250 crore, is poised to strengthen the state’s industrial ecosystem and create substantial employment opportunities.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai welcomed both proposals with enthusiasm and assured full support from the state government. He emphasized the government’s commitment to encouraging quality investments in key sectors such as healthcare and manufacturing.
“These projects will not only enhance public services and industrial output but will also open up new job opportunities for the youth of Chhattisgarh,” stated the Chief Minister.
The proposed investments by Medanta and Varun Beverages mark a promising step toward holistic development in Chhattisgarh, underlining its emerging status as a favorable destination for business and infrastructure growth.
