NTPC, India’s largest energy conglomerate, has signed clean energy deals worth $11.5 billion in Chhattisgarh, marking a significant shift toward renewable energy. These deals are expected to boost the state’s power generation capacity and reduce its carbon footprint as part of India’s larger commitment to sustainable development.

In a major milestone for the Indian renewable energy sector, Juniper Green Energy, an independent renewable power producer, successfully commissioned a 100-MW solar power project aimed at supplying electricity to Bhutan. The project is located in Rajasthan and plays a key role in strengthening regional energy cooperation. As per the agreement, Bhutan will receive 50% of the generated power during winter months under a cross-border framework. This deal marks the first instance of direct power imports from an Indian generator by Bhutan, solidifying the country’s energy security.

Naresh Mansukhani, CEO of Juniper Green Energy, stated, “Our first cross-border energy agreement is an important achievement in regional energy integration. This initiative will provide vital power to Bhutan’s key sectors, ensuring energy security throughout the winter months.”

Juniper Green Energy, headquartered in Delhi NCR, is part of the AT Group based in Singapore. The company specializes in solar, wind, and hybrid projects, operating a total capacity of 1.1 GWp across India. With a focus on renewable energy, Juniper Green Energy continues to push forward in establishing itself as a key player in India’s clean energy transformation.

This project is a significant move toward expanding India’s renewable energy footprint while also supporting regional collaboration, ensuring energy security for its neighbors.
