The Adani Group has announced an ambitious ₹60,000 crore investment to significantly enhance Chhattisgarh’s power generation and infrastructure capabilities, further establishing the state as a major energy hub in India. This monumental plan, which includes the expansion of the group’s power plants in Raipur, Korba, and Raigarh, will increase Chhattisgarh’s total power generation by 6,120 MW. The investment will help meet the rising industrial and residential power demands in the region, further cementing Chhattisgarh’s role in India’s energy landscape.
In addition to bolstering its power generation capacity, the Adani Group has also committed ₹5,000 crore towards the development and expansion of its cement plants in the state. This expansion aims to boost production and meet the growing demand for cement in the construction industry, both within Chhattisgarh and nationwide.
Beyond business growth, the Adani Group has pledged an additional ₹10,000 crore over the next four years for community development initiatives. This decision, made in consultation with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, will focus on education, healthcare, skill development, and tourism. The funds will be used to establish new schools, improve literacy rates, set up healthcare facilities, and enhance rural health services. Furthermore, the Adani Group plans to launch training programs aimed at equipping local youth with the skills necessary to secure jobs. The investment also seeks to promote Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural heritage and natural attractions, helping to elevate the state’s tourism sector.
The meeting between Gautam Adani and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai also explored new business ventures, including the establishment of defence manufacturing facilities, data centres, and a Global Capability Centre (GCC). These projects are expected to reduce India’s dependence on imports, bolster local manufacturing capabilities, and create new employment opportunities in Chhattisgarh. The development of data centres will help strengthen the state’s IT infrastructure and boost the digital economy, while the GCC will provide specialized services to global markets.
The announcement of this transformative investment was made during a high-level meeting between the Adani Group Chairman and the Chief Minister, with the details shared on social media by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). This significant investment not only promises to drive economic growth in Chhattisgarh but also aims to improve the quality of life for its residents through increased job opportunities, better healthcare, and educational support.
